I have been using this fabric for years, since it was sold through Fabric.com. When that company went under, I went on a desperate search for the supplier. Once I found them, they were helpful and directed me towards Amazon to keep buying this fabric. I use it mostly for my seasonal Christmas stocking business, but I have also used it for some other home decor projects.My favorite things about this fabric:- The width. It's 72" wide, and that's so handy, especially for an upholstery project. I can get several stockings out of one yard.- The softness. I have tried many, MANY velvets over the years, and this is some of the softest. A lot of polyester velvets feel plasticky, and I don't find this fabric to be like that.- I can iron it. Only from the back, and without pressing too hard or for too long, but that means I can interface it for my stockings and press out any small creasesCons:- They will occasionally, and I mean very rarely, send me dirty fabric, but I don't really consider this a con because each time they have replaced it. I've been happy with the customer service.- All of the reds have a slight or not-so-slight pink hue. You can see it in the picture with the red and green stockings. Because of that I use a different line of velvets for my red stockings only. What's weird is that when they were transitioning from Fabric.com to Amazon, I was accidentally sent the perfect shade of red velvet, but never was able to figure out which shade it was to reorder it as none of their swatches match that shade. That will remain a mystery!- Some of the fabrics don't match their online picture very well, like begonia or lilac. Make sure you order a swatch first.I really do love this velvet. I've also ordered some of their embossed velvet and it's really pretty and soft, so I recommend that fabric too. I've included the collage I show customers, with the actual names of the fabric written if I changed the name for my use. Velvet can be tricky to photograph as it looks a little different in various lights, but I'd say the pictures in the collage are pretty accurate. (The sage green is prettier in person, however, than in my collage).
I had ordered samples fromSeveral different companies . When these arrived, I contacted the company who was very cooperative with me in purchasing the exact colors I wanted. They arrived promptly and I cannot wait until my husbands grandparents first piece of furniture (over 100 year old) will be renewed and will bring sunshine, joy and brightness into the room. The cushions will be covered in the velvets which match the bright exotic design of the corresponding fabrics. This has been a delight!
